Rachel Johnson

Rachel is a solicitor in the dispute resolution team, specialising in contentious trusts and probate work. Rachel has handled matters for both claimants and defendants and approaches each matter with attention to detail and sensitivity.

Rachel has particular experience in a range of contentious probate matters, including:

• Claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975;
• Claims for the removal of executors of an estate;
• Claims for accounts in relation to estate assets;
• Claims in relation to the validity of wills, including claims relating to a failure to comply with the formal requirements for a will, lack of capacity, want of knowledge and approval, and fraud;
• Claims in relation to the construction of wills.

Rachel also provides advice on more general contentious probate matters such as the warning off of caveats and Larke v Nugus requests. Rachel also works closely with the private client department, providing support to those appointed as independent personal representatives of an estate.
