Overview of Kate’s practice

Kate is an Associate and employment law specialist based between our Wolverhampton and Cradley offices. She has over 8 years’ experience in advising on employment law matters and is recognised for providing solution driven and jargon-free advice.

Kate has experience in supporting both individual clients and businesses across a wide range of sectors (including financial, automotive and education); on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law. She has a wealth of experience in dealing with complex business reorganisation matters (to include large scale redundancies and TUPE transfers) and handling Employment Tribunal disputes. Kate regularly provides day to day HR and employment law support to commercial clients and is happy to assist businesses in preparing and delivering tailored employment law training to employees at all levels.

Kate also has experience of advising commercial clients on acquisitions and disposals from an employment law perspective, alongside the Firm's Corporate team.

Recent experience

Advising and supporting a commercial client in the financial services sector on a complex race discrimination claim, resulting in a successful application for strike out of all claims and costs being awarded in favour of the client;

Undertaking a secondment on behalf of a commercial client in order to oversee and manage a combined TUPE and redundancy collective consultation process (to include consultation with both trade unions and employee representatives), achieving a positive outcome in line with the client’s original objectives;

Providing exit advice and support to a number of individual senior executives, often to include the negotiation of settlement agreements through to conclusion and frequently achieving a positive conclusion for such clients;

Providing ongoing general HR and Employment law advice and support as the trusted adviser to a number of commercial clients.

And, for something else…….

Kate is kept busy at home juggling her two young daughters and teenage stepson. When there is any free time, Kate loves to travel and anything that involves good food!
