Emily Coates

Emily is an Associate in the firm’s Dispute Resolution team, specialising in Contentious Trusts and Probate work.

Emily deals with a wide range of contested claims concerning the validity of wills; construction of wills and/or trust deeds; financial provision claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975; breach of trust, professional negligence claims arising from defective trusts, wills, or poor legal advice; and beneficial interests in property, including estoppel claims.

Emily also has experience dealing with claims made by personal representatives of estate to obtain a deceased’s data from their Apple iCloud.

Emily is recognised for her high-quality work, positive client feedback, and is well regarded amongst her peers. She is fully ACTAPS qualified, and a member of the Contentious Trusts Association (“ConTrA”).
