Mock Employment Law Tribunal 5th November 2019

Mock Employment Law Tribunal

Tuesday 5th November 2019, 9am - 12pm

West Bromwich Albion Football Club

This is a fantastic opportunity to experience an insight into the workings of an Employment Tribunal case. Understanding the process and what’s involved can help the decision makers within a business to be much more confident about handling potential disputes. Therefore, take the opportunity to explore the ins and outs of an unfair dismissal case and follow the evidence with case work notes and background evidence.

During the course of the morning you will see a live mock hearing take place from start to finish, which will include witnesses giving evidence, cross-examination by barristers, and the case will end with a real Employment Tribunal judge making a decision on the evidence presented. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions about the process, as well as an opportunity to vote on what they think is the right result! The event will highlight how actions taken by an employer can become key features within a hearing and how information is used in order for a decision to be made.

This is a must attend event for anyone involved in HR, anyone with management responsibility, as well as for business owners, finance directors and those wishing to improve their knowledge of the tribunal process.

We are holding this event in conjunction with the Black Country Chamber of Commerce and we are also delighted to be joined by two barristers from No5 Chambers in Birmingham who will bring with them first-hand knowledge and experience of representing clients at the Employment Tribunal on a vast range of cases.  The case will be judged by Tim Lang, Head of Employment. Tim sits as a fee paid Employment Tribunal judge in the South East Region.

There is also an opportunity to play a role of one of the witnesses in the case – so let us know if you would like to take part and help present the evidence!
