A form C100 relates to the arrangements for a child/ children. A party can use this form to apply for the following orders:
- A child arrangements order; to decide where a child lives and to confirm who they spend time with or otherwise have contact with;
- A specific issue order; to determine a specific issue in respect of a child’s upbringing that cannot be agreed, for example, whether they should go on a certain holiday abroad or where they should attend school; and
- A prohibited steps order to prevent one party from being able to do something, for example, from removing a child from the other party’s care.
Before a form C100 can be sent to the Court the applicant must complete a MIAM (Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting) or fall into one of the exemptions.
Once a C100 is filed with the Court it triggers child arrangement proceedings, and a court timetable will be put in place.
