Back to School- how to deal with term time child arrangements

With children returning to school at the beginning of September, separated parents may need to consider what term time arrangements are put in place for their child/children. If arrangements have already been put in place for the last academic year, amendments may be needed if, for example, there has been a change of school, or a child is just starting school.

If an agreement can be reached between the parents that they are both happy with then no third-party involvement is required. However, if agreements cannot be reached it may be that legal advice is required in order to help to resolve any issues.

Parents may also attempt Mediation to see whether this is a process that would assist to finalise the arrangements.

If an agreement remains outstanding though, an application can be made for the Court to consider what the long-term term time (and holiday) arrangements should be.
