The GDPR

‘what businesses need to know and do before May 2018’

UK data protection law will change on the 25th May 2018, when the EU General Data Protection Regulation takes effect, replacing the Data Protection Act 1998.

The potential penalties for business are huge.  Companies could be fined up to up to 4% of annual worldwide turnover or 20 million euros (whichever is the greater) for violations relating to breaches of the data protection principles, conditions for consent, data subjects rights and international data transfers.

George Green LLP have teamed up with 11 KBW barristers chambers to host an event aimed at helping businesses address the challenges of the GDPR.

Date: Tuesday, 7th November 2017

Time: 4pm to 6pm

Venue: Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton

Cost: £20 plus VAT per attendee

The Event Will Cover -

  • An overview of how data protection law is to be altered by the GDPR – and how it stays the same;
  • The steps all data controllers need to be taking;
  • Data Protection Officers;
  • The use of data processors; and
  • How to approach consent, including for marketing purposes.
