George Green LLP advises on Compton Hospice Funding

Philip Round, a Corporate Partner at George Green LLP, has recently advised the Trustees of the Goodyear Workers’ Benevolent Fund on its donation of £1,500,000 to finance the construction of a community administration hub at Compton Hospice.

The 5-344 Transport and General Workers’ Benevolent Fund had been accumulated over 30 years and has supported numerous local charities since the closure of Goodyear’s Wolverhampton plant. The new development at Compton Hospice, construction of which is due to commence in the summer, is intended to coordinate its range of support services under one roof.

Cyril Barrett, Trustee and Chairman of the Benevolent Fund, commented: “we are proud to support a charity which has provided care to the families of many of the Goodyear workers, and to create a lasting legacy to the members of the fund. George Green did an excellent job for us.”

Philip Round commented: “I am delighted to have been able to assist the Trustees in funding a very worthwhile project.”
