George Green Lawyers Ranked as Leaders in Their Fields

November has once again seen the publication of the latest edition of Chambers and Partners, one of the leading Law Firm Directories, which benchmarks lawyers and law firms using a market research based model.

The 2018 edition of Chambers and Partners has confirmed the success of George Green’s strategy, which puts clients first, with a number of its senior lawyers being awarded “notable practitioner” status following the researchers ‘enquiries of the firm’s clients and other market participants .

The firm’s Corporate Group had particularly strong reviews which saw it retain its top spot as the West Midlands leading law firm for transactions involving Owner Managed Businesses.

Clients quoted in the independent research said of the corporate team “There’s a very fast turnaround on documents, and they're prepared to work very long hours," adding that "they're very dynamic in their approach."

Another source observes: "They're friendly, knowledgeable, and go the extra mile" adding: "They can explain the more complicated aspects very well."

Corporate partners Guy Green and Paul Bennett were each afforded “notable practitioner” status with Guy being described as “down to earth, very approachable and with a sense of humour “; clients further say that he is “good at keeping his eye on the ball.” Paul is described by clients as being “quick on his feet, exudes confidence" and further as “reassuringly steady in his advice, very comprehensive and able to speak in layman's terms.”

The Firm’s Dispute Resolution business comes in for particular praise with clients saying “They respond very quickly to all requests for advice or information and provide faultless legal advice at all times. The accuracy of both their understanding and the written responses given is flawless and does not change even when highly complex matters arise. ”Another client comments the "efficient, no-nonsense approach throughout the team” and highlights the "prompt response to issues and queries."

Dispute Resolution partners Neil Williams and Morgan Rees are each singled out as leaders in the field. On Neil Williams the feedback Chambers has says: "He won't let things go, won't give in and has got an eye for detail," with another interviewee adding that he "gives realistic advice." Chambers describes Morgan Rees as "a really good technical lawyer" who is also "very proactive."

The firm’s Employment Chief, Tim Lang, is referred to by clients as “absolutely outstanding” and another observes “he understands business law and he’s very pragmatic.”

Real Estate Chief, Kevin Styles, comes in for particular praise with one client enthusing "He is hugely experienced and you can rely on him for any sort of commercial view."

Recently recruited Regulatory partner James Lowe is described by clients as “one of the best regulatory lawyer I have ever worked with and is very good at understanding the client’s business perspective.”

The strong showings in the latest edition of Chambers follow the ranking of the Firm’s Private Client team in Chambers earlier “High Net Worth” advisers publication which referred to the team’s “good reputation” and Private Client head Claire Pottinger as “a very solid safe pair of hands that look after clients very well” as well as being “well respected and well known.”

David Stevenson, Chief Executive of George Green commented “at George Green we do not compromise on putting clients at the centre of our business. Put simply, this means we work tirelessly with our clients to give them the edge in whatever situation they find themselves in; it’s not our knowledge as lawyers that sets us apart in this respect but how we apply that knowledge to give our clients real competitive advantage. It is our clients not us that set the benchmarks for us to match up to and, vitally, to exceed. It is an important part of our service promise that we do what is said on the tin and I am delighted therefore with the latest Chambers and Partners research which confirms we are doing just that.”

George Green LLP is a leading full service law firm and recognised as such in both Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners. Our lawyers make a difference by helping our clients succeed. We have offices in Cradley Heath and Wolverhampton.
