George Green Lawyers Lead The Way

The latest edition of Chambers & Partners, one of the leading Law Firm Directories, which benchmarks lawyers and law firms using a market research based model has been published with leading law firm George Green and many of its lawyers highlighted for praise. The latest copy of the directory confirms the success of the firm’s strategy of putting clients first.

The firm’s Corporate Group had particularly strong reviews which saw it retain its top spot as the West Midlands leading law firm for transactions in the owner managed businesses sector.

Sources quoted in the independent research said of the corporate team, "They are trusted lawyers for us. They have good experience and provide the expertise we need" with the team being further described as “down to earth" and providing "good, solid advice and support."

Corporate partners, Paul Bennett and Philip Round are highlighted in glowing terms with Paul cited as being a "very accessible lawyer who "finishes deals smoothly", while another source notes, "Things are kept very steady under Paul."  Philip Round meanwhile is described as having outstanding attention to detail and accuracy” with another client commenting "He understands complex situations extremely quickly and gives concise and comprehensive advice." Guy Green is also ranked as a leader amongst the region’s corporate deal doers.

The Firm’s Dispute Resolution team also  retains  its number one ranking with clients are quoted as praising the firm’s dispute resolution team as "established and respected, serious long term players .

Dispute resolution partners, Neil Williams and Morgan Rees are each singled out as leaders in their field. In respect of Neil Williams, Chambers says:always available for advice," while another source says he "brings a lot of experience and is very good at seeing the bigger picture." Sources are impressed by Morgan Rees’ ability to "absorb a tremendous amount of detail and pare it down to the most relevant strands," as well as lauding his "impressive commercial judgement." The team was strengthened during the year with key hire, Liam Owen. Interviewees highlight Liam’s ability to "instil confidence in the client” with another source describing him as an "extremely capable pair of hands."

The firm’s Employment law chief, Tim Lang, is highlighted for his “good reputation” whilst Real Estate head Kevin Styles is ranked as a leader in the field; with the Real Estate team also being ranked amongst the go to firm’s for this type of work.

The firm’s Family team has gone from strength to strength during the year which is reflected in some very favourable client comments with one client quoted as saying “I have been extremely impressed with George Green over an extended period of time. Since my first introduction to the firm I have felt listened to, trusted and supported through every step." Another client describes the team as "very professional and understanding.” Family chief, Mark Vandaele receives the following endorsement "He has helped me understand legal processes and procedures and I've been impressed with his counsel to provide clear strategies and goals. His positive, encouraging and empathetic nature has given me new confidence and mental strength to deal with my case." Whilst Rachel Baker is confirmed as “up and coming“ with one source quoted as saying, “In my opinion, it is clear that the skills Rachel has developed have made her an outstanding family lawyer, able to provide exceptional guidance, advice and support."

The firm’s strong showing follows on from the praise the firm’s Private Client and Contentious Probate teams received in Chambers earlier “High Net Worth” adviser’s publication which recognised in particular the talents of the respective team leading partners, Claire Pottinger and James Coles.
