George Green Host Law Taster Days

George Green LLP has been busy encouraging and inspiring local students to consider a career in law by providing a series of Law Taster Days at their Cradley Heath office. Sixth form students from local schools and colleges considering reading law at university were invited to apply for a place on the scheme and 12 successful students attended each session.

The students taking part in the Taster Days were drawn from King Edward VI College, Windsor Sixth Form, RSA Academy, Halesowen College and Ormiston Forge Academy.

Alex-Jayne Lowe, Partner commented ‘At George Green we believe it is important to engage with the local community and through our Taster days offer a thoughtful and targeted opportunity for local students so they are better informed about the options available to them in the legal profession and have a deeper understanding of the skills needed to be a lawyer before applying to universities. This is the second year we have run Taster Days and the feedback from the students involved has again been very positive’

David Stevenson, Chief Executive at George Green commented 'a career in the law can offer so much in terms of challenge and opportunity. Law is not on many School curriculum and we are keen to help students gain an early insight to the work of a lawyer and the inside of a law firm so they are better enabled to make informed decisions about their future direction. I met and spoke to a number of the students and was impressed with the level of interest and questions posed of us. Good luck now to all of those who choose to commence on the journey to qualify as a solicitor.'

George Green LLP received positive feedback from the students who attended the session with one commenting ‘great day! Really interesting an insightful’
