How to use the Growth Centre

Whilst we have designed our Growth Centre to be as user-friendly as possible, we have included so many resources that it can be difficult to know where to start.  We recommend the following approach:-

 1. Read the "Start-up checklist"  (Document GR1) in our INTEGRAL document suite.  This lists many of the key issues that you will need to consider, directs you to more detailed analysis and cross-refers to the relevant sections of our template heads of terms and - where relevant - company constitutional documents.

2. Consider preparing heads of terms.  If you are setting up in business with others, we suggest you document the key terms of your venture in a short set of heads of agreement.  We have provided a suggested template at Document GR2 of our INTEGRAL document suite.

3. Choose a business structure: If you have not already done so, read the factsheet "Choosing a business structure" in our Start-Ups Clinic.

4. Setting up a company? If you have decided to form a private limited company, read our factsheet "Incorporating a Company", which also introduces our INTEGRAL template company constitutional documents.  If you choose to adopt a different business structure, we are happy to provide a fee estimate for producing bespoke partnership or LLP members agreements.

5. Browse our Start-Ups Clinic and Useful Links pages for further guidance and links to external resources.

For those who have registered to use our Growth Centre resources, and subject to demand, we plan to hold six-monthly free "Start-Up Boot Camps" at which a panel of our lawyers will answer questions on the legal issues faced by early stage businesses.  If you would like us to notify you of any forthcoming Start-Up Boot Camps, please register your interest here.
