James is a partner at George Green and Head of its Wolverhampton office.  James acts for clients in a variety of commercial matters, specialising in property, will disputes, professional negligence and regulatory matters for both defendants and claimants.

He is recommended in both Chambers’ and Legal 500 directories, with clients being impressed with his ability to “keep a level head in difficult situations” and stating that “he doesn’t try and bamboozle you with legal information” (Chambers).  James is praised for always having a clear focus upon “the requirements of the client and with cost-effectiveness in mind” (Chambers). 

James is currently ranked by Chambers as the top Property Litigator within his area.  He is also a member of the Property Litigation Association.  James handles a broad range of property litigation work including: enforcing leases (for example rental arrears, dilapidations, rights to assign/sublet/make alterations, rights of entry to effect repairs); opposing lease renewals, break clauses, surrender and forfeiture; Landlord and Tenant Act lease renewal disputes; eviction of squatters and trespassers; boundary disputes; and adverse possession claims.

James also has extensive experience and expertise in dealing with Party Wall disputes and this is recognised by the fact he is a member of both the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors and the Pyramus and Thisbe Club, the leading organisation for Party Wall experts.

James has considerable experience dealing with a wide variety of contentious trust and probate (will) disputes and is one of only a handful of solicitors in the Midlands to be a full member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) which is widely regarded as the gold standard for practitioners in this area of the law.

James also deals with a large number of regulatory and professional negligence claims.

James acts for a range of clients from individuals to multi-national companies.  He has extensive experience in representing these clients at mediation over many years.     

James is married with two daughters and enjoys cycling (both road and mountain), playing squash and golf and watching rugby.
