Our road traffic and transport work is handled by James, a Partner with over 15 years of experience in this type of work.  He has dealt with road traffic matters since qualification and has handled numerous road traffic investigations and prosecutions.

We understand that each case has its own unique set of facts and for this reason our fees are determined on a case by case basis following consultation with you to determine the likely costs in the case.

We do not undertake legal aid work.  All instructions are dealt with on a privately paid hourly rate basis.

Investigations

All investigations will be dealt with at an hourly rate of £230 per hour plus VAT.

We will take your instructions and advise you in relation to the investigation.  We will obtain and review pre-interview disclosure from the police and advise and represent you throughout any interview under caution. 

As a guideline, our fees for dealing with investigations typically range from £1,500 plus VAT to £5,000 plus VAT depending on the nature and complexity of the case. Many cases we handle fall towards the lower end of the pricing scale.

In some instances our fees for dealing with complex cases may exceed the price ranges identified above.

A full fee estimate is provided for every case we handle prior to any work commencing.  

Prosecutions

Defence of prosecutions are dealt with on an hourly rate basis at £230 per hour plus VAT.

We will review the evidence against you and provide you with advice as to plea and provide continued advice throughout your case.  We will liaise with the prosecutor and will prepare the case for sentencing in the event of a guilty plea to enable mitigation to be presented on your behalf.

Fees in the event of a guilty plea typically range from £2,000 plus VAT to £5,000 plus VAT depending on the complexity of the case. The vast majority of cases fall at the lowest end of the pricing scale.

Fees are likely to increase beyond the pricing range identified above in the event of the case being sent to the Crown Court for sentencing.  

In the event that your case has realistic prospects of being successfully defended at trial, a detailed fee estimate will be provided in respect of the work required up to the conclusion of the case.  

In some cases, we may advise that a barrister be instructed to conduct the advocacy at any court hearing on your behalf.  A fee quote will be obtained and discussed with you prior to counsel being instructed. That fee quote will be dependent on the particular facts of your case and the work required in it.
