A number of Black Country food businesses rated zero for food hygiene

A number of restaurants and takeaways across the Black Country have been given a food hygiene rating of zero following recent food hygiene inspections by Environmental Health Officers.

The zero rating for food hygiene means urgent improvement is necessary and is the lowest of the scores that can be given.

There are 7,938 businesses in the Black Country serving or selling food. These businesses include restaurants, takeaways, cafes, shops, pubs, hotels, hospitals, schools and universities.

23 food businesses were given a zero rating for food hygiene in their most recent inspection.

Sandwell has the highest number of zero-rated premises, while Dudley has the least.
