The President of the Family Division has announced a formal “delinking” of Divorce and Financial Matters, following a successful Pilot programme.  

In short the Divorce element, provided it is uncontested, will remain at the Regional Divorce Centres. Financial Order applications, if contested, will be transferred to the Court local to the parties.

Mark Vandaele, Family Law Partner comments “anything which speeds up the process is positive.   In theory this should lead to the Court processing Divorce and Financial Consent Order applications more quickly.”
