Failure of the Civil Partnership Act 2004 (Amendment) Bill

The Bill, if enacted, would have amended the Civil Partnership Act 2004 to allow heterosexual couples to enter into a civil partnership.

The premise of the bill was to enable couples that were opposed to marriage in its traditional form to have a relationship that was formally recognised.  The bill failed at its second reading in the House of Commons.

Whatever the problem, the Family Team at George Green is here to help.  We fully appreciate that taking that initial step of contacting a solicitor can be a daunting prospect, but most clients find that once they have taken initial advice they are much better equipped to consider their options.
